Email alerts are always available and require no setup — every tenant user's account email is eligible to receive alerts by default. You can add shared distribution lists for team-wide routing.
Adding destinations
In the dashboard, Settings → Alerts → Email destinations:
- Click Add destination.
- Enter an email address or distribution list.
- Verify by clicking the link in the email we send to confirm.
Unverified destinations don't receive alerts — the verify step is there
to avoid misrouting a page to oncll@ when you meant oncall@.
Routing to email
In your alert route, set the destination to an email address or a named distribution list. Routes can have multiple destinations — Slack and email in parallel is the default for sev-2.
What's in the email
Every alert email includes:
- Alert title and severity
- Service, environment, and affected SLO
- A short burn-rate summary (short window and long window)
- Suspected release ID and PR link (if available)
- One-click Ack button (signed link, no login required)
- Deep-link into the dashboard
Sending provider
Emails are sent via an EU-region transactional email provider. See the sub-processor list on the security page.
