1. The categories
Cookies are grouped into four categories. At V1 Greenslope uses only Strictly necessary and Analytics — we do not run paid ads and do not set marketing or remarketing cookies.
- Strictly necessary. Required to operate the service. No consent required under UK GDPR / EU GDPR.
- Functional. Remember preferences like theme and dismissed notifications. Consent required. (V1 note: we keep dark-mode preference in
localStorageonly, not a cookie, so functional cookies are effectively none at launch.) - Analytics. Help us understand how the site is used. Consent required.
- Marketing. Ads and retargeting. Consent required. Not in scope at V1 — we do not run paid ads and do not use marketing cookies. When this changes, this policy and the consent UI will be updated in advance.
2. The specific cookies and storage
Strictly necessary
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
gs_session | Greenslope | Keeps you signed in. | Session (or 30 days if “Remember me” chosen) |
gs_csrf | Greenslope | Prevents cross-site request forgery on form submissions. | Session |
gs_consent | Greenslope CMP | Records your cookie-consent choices (including declines). | 12 months |
__cf_bm, cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Bot management and DDoS protection on the edge. | 30 minutes – 1 year |
Analytics
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cookieless page-view events | Plausible Analytics (EU) | Aggregate page-view and referrer stats. No cookies are set. We include this under Analytics for transparency even though strictly it doesn’t require consent. | N/A |
ph_* cookies (in-product only) | PostHog Cloud EU | Product-analytics events in the signed-in app. Only set after consent. | Up to 365 days |
Functional
None at V1. Dark-mode preference is kept in localStorage.
Marketing
None at V1.
3. How consent is captured
On first visit you see a banner with equal-weight Accept all, Reject all, and Manage preferences options. No dark patterns:
- No pre-ticked opt-ins.
- No “continuing means consent” language.
- No cookie wall blocking access if you decline.
Your choice is logged by our consent management platform with a timestamp and the category set at the time. This record is retained for at least 12 months.
4. Changing your mind
Use the Cookie Preferences link in the footer to open the preference centre and change any category toggle. Changes take effect immediately.
5. Browser controls
You can also clear or block cookies through your browser’s privacy controls. This may break the site’s strictly necessary functionality (such as staying signed in).
6. Changes to this policy
If we add any cookie or storage key, or change a vendor, we update this page. Material changes are re-prompted through the consent banner.
